Trace is a round rug designed by Claesson Koivisto Rune for ASPLUND Carpets, 1999. ASPLUND’s hand-tufted rugs are made from high-quality New Zealand wool that is rich in natural fats, which give the rug a natural luster while providing good protection against stains.

Claesson Koivisto Rune is a Swedish architecture and design company founded in 1995 by Mårten Claesson, Eero Koivisto and Ola Rune. They started as an architectural office but have developed into an international studio with equal focus on both architecture and design. The trio met in 1992 when they were studying at Konstfack in Stockholm. The trio’s interest in creating holistic projects, connecting space with objects, led to further studies in architecture at Parsons School of Design in New York, the Royal Swedish Academy of Fine Arts School of Architecture in Copenhagen and Aalto University in Helsinki. Together with ASPLUND, in addition to Kilt, they have also designed the popular furniture series Vass and Oblique and the candlesticks Grace.
