OBI RUG
Designed by Färg & Blanche 2020.

The idea for OBI developed during a three months long residency in Japan during 2015. Färg & Blanche took inspiration from the Japanese Geisha culture and all the knots and rope bindings they saw in their clothing. ”We wanted to give the carpet a three-dimensional effect, an organic shape on a flat surface”.

OBI was first shown for ASPLUND during the exhibition AMOUR mon AMOUR in Milan 2017. These rugs look perfect hung on the wall as well.

About the designers:

The rug is named Obi because it is inspired by Japanese knots and rope ties, such as those found on the belt of a geisha’s kimono.
